#GOALS is a one day interactive educational experience for middle school students to inspire them to Go Out and Love Science!

#GOALS is a program of the Ascension Foundation and Ascension Community Impact, part of our shared initiative to build a future healthcare workforce that includes all communities.

Healthcare careers can be stable, financially rewarding, and professionally fulfilling, yet the path to becoming a physician is long, so the work of building that future workforce must begin now. Projections show a potential shortage of more than 187,000 physicians by 2037, a gap that will disproportionately affect the most vulnerable.

#GOALS was developed with input from medical students, physicians, researchers, educators, and event production experts. We seek new input before and after each #GOALS event to ensure the activities reflect and respect the participants.

Through #GOALS, we want to inform and inspire students to prepare for the rigorous undergraduate education they need to pursue professional education and training for careers in healthcare and research.
